Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 16x10-inch rectangle. Brush with pasta sauce to within 1/2 inch of edges.

Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage (if using) and Parmesan cheese in even layers.

Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side; pinch seam to seal. Cut into 8 equal slices.

Place slices in a greased 9-inch cast-iron skillet or greased 9-inch round baking pan, cut side down. Bake for 20 minutes.

Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese. Bake until golden brown, 5-10 minutes longer.

If desired, garnish with minced fresh basil and crushed red pepper flakes before serving.
